So this is deep. I've been a little quiet recently. I've battled with myself as to whether I should explain why, or whether I should just leave it be.
Fact of the matter is, is that sometimes life gives you lemons. And, it's kinda what you do with those proverbial lemons that really matters. My birthday is 8th April. My dad's, is 12th April. The anniversary of his passing is the 5th of May, 5 days ago.
It's difficult consoling someone with the loss of a loved one, what can you really say? There was only one thing that was said to me at the time that really resonated with me - and that was, 'There's no right way of grieving, there's only *your* way of grieving.' - everybody deals with losing a loved one in a different way, and that's fine because, y'know, everyone's a different person!
I'm very lucky to have a close network of friends and family, and those who look out for me. Not everybody is so lucky, and so I'm very thankful - though I should really say thank you to those people more often.
My dad was a small business owner pretty much all of his life, a plumber by trade, he built his plumbing and building business from the ground up. Despite my industry being a far cry from his - I'd like to think (I hope?) my old man would be proud of what I've achieved with my life so far.
To that extent, I'd like to thank all those who have helped to make FLS what it is today. Those of you who were there from the start (you know who you all are!), my family, our community of clients, members, consultants and friends, and of course, Anthony and family (my business partner!). It's been no cake walk, and sometimes when you wake up and wonder what the hell you're doing, it's very easy to overlook how far you've come, how much you've already achieved, and who you should be thanking for helping get you there.
I can think of no better testament to my dad than being the best human I can be - loving my family (yes, that includes Skye, my dog!) and friends - and building a business he would be proud of me for.
Be thankful. Be kind. Appreciate those around you. Then when life gives you lemons, tell life to take them back! 👊🍋 #friends #family #love #life #health #fitness
